Welcome to the second edition of our magazine.
In our first issue, published in June, we revealed our first Out & Proud 50 list. This issue we’re taking an in-depth look at what’s happening in South Florida this fall.
There’s a lot!
We’re super proud of our scrappy little team. At 112 pages, the issue is huge. A big thanks to all of our advertisers – more than 60! This is THE Arts & Entertainment Issue. Dare we say – the biggest and baddest fall preview you’ll find in South Florida? Our cover image is of local drag superstar Nicole Halliwell – the perfect representation of our local fall entertainment. The issue is really powered by J.W. Arnold whose local A&E preview is the most comprehensive you’ll find – a whopping 15 pages.
Our other content includes a Fall Film Fest Round-up including OUTShine Film Festival and Fort Lauderdale Film Festival; a profile of Halliwell, a drag entrepreneur; a Q&A with actor Fin Argus; a profile of musician and former American Idol contestant Jim Verraros, who recently released a new single; our film editor’s favorite movies from this summer including Barbie (of course!).
Speaking of "Barbie", our former trans art director gives his take on the patriarchy and how he felt watching Ken’s evolution; there’s also a profile of Danny and Ron's Rescue and the husbands behind it; an interview with Brandon Wolf, who released a memoir, "A Place for Us", and got a new job with the Human Rights Campaign; a review of Canyon, a travel piece on Colombia and finally our car writer takes a drive in the Rolls-Royce Spectre (only $420,000).
Whew, that’s a lot of content. I’m out of breath just writing this.
