Capping what has arguably been the Year of Melissa St. John, the award-winning female illusionist has won Bronze recognition in the Best Local Drag Queen category by GayCities in their annual international “Best of GayCities 2024” competition.
Representing Fort Lauderdale, FL, St. John is OutSFL’s reigning Queen of Queens and Miss Florida F.I. Supreme (Hon ’24). Karah I Doll, of Medellin, Colombia, took top honors while Poison Waters, of Portland, OR, placed second. St. John rounded out the trio in third place. Like the Olympics, the gold, silver and bronze winning medalists are recognized amongst the competitors.
“I am so grateful to everyone at GayCities for this incredible honor. This recognition is more than I could have ever imagined. I congratulate Karah I Doll and Poison Waters as well as all of the nominees. We are a sisterhood that has stood the test of time. I am proud to be part of such a talented group of performers from around the world,” St. John says.
