Leather, love, and cigar smoke filled the Ramrod over the weekend, culminating in the declaration of a new Mr. Ramrod. Leather veteran Scott Jordan claimed the title out of a four-man field.
“I’ve been a member of the leather community in New York, San Francisco, Palm Springs, Provincetown and more since 1979. I saw my first contest in when I was 29 and have always wanted to enter one to serve the community,” Jordan said.
The Sunday night contest was the culmination of a long weekend of work. Saturday night, all four contestants competed to sell raffle tickets to win their individually curated gift baskets. They were back at Ramrod by 12:30 the next afternoon for one-on-one interviews with the judges. The contest packed the crowd in that night.
Former Mr. Ramrod, Elimination Onyx, hosted the night and said Jordan has his work cut out for him and will rely on his fellow contestants.
“The determining factor will be, as Mr. Ramrod begins to lay his boots to the ground, will his class brothers be there to support and encourage?”
Jordan will represent Ramrod at International Mister Leather in Chicago over Memorial Day weekend. The aforementioned gift baskets were a test of bonding and brotherhood. Proceeds from the raffle go towards travel expenses to IML.
