Our Sister’s Place Thrift Store & Client Services, a domestic violence service agency located in Tequesta, FL, has recognized drag superstar Melissa St. John with the organization’s highest honor, the Courage Award for 2025.
The award pays tribute to individuals committed to ending domestic violence through volunteerism. St. John is a volunteer at the charity having also been named Volunteer of the Month in September 2024.
Hailed as the Queen of Queens by OUTSFL, St. John is an icon in the pantheon of female illusion. In 2024, she was celebrated as the honorary Miss Florida F.I. Supreme. Additionally, St. John was voted the Best Drag Activist, Drag Performer, Local Entertainer and Local Celebrity in Palm Beach County by OUTSFL in their 2024 Your Choice Awards. Further, she was recognized as a Grand Damas of Drag by Julian’s Fountain of Youth and recently won Bronze recognition in the Best Local Drag Queen category by GayCities in their annual international “Best of GayCities 2024” competition.
OUTSFL Newspaper & Magazine established the Melissa St. John LGBTQ College Student Scholarship in recognition of St. John’s ongoing volunteer efforts across numerous charities to support those in greatest need.
