There’s something magical about dining under the Miami Beach stars, the ocean breeze carrying the hum of nearby nightlife, and the promise of an elegant meal on the horizon.

My husband and I recently discovered this magic at TAMBO, the newest gem in Miami Beach’s vibrant dining scene. We were excited to experience the restaurant, and for me to be able to share my experience with others.

Nestled within The Gates Hotel at 2360 Collins Avenue, TAMBO brings an elevated Latin-Fusion dining experience to locals and visitors alike, and our evening there was nothing short of unforgettable.

A Warm Welcome and a Stunning Setting

The moment we arrived, TAMBO’s ambiance drew us in. The outdoor patio was where we chose to sit, surrounded by lush greenery and twinkling lights. It was a gorgeous night, so we recommend the patio if weather permits once you visit.

The atmosphere was refined yet unpretentious, a perfect blend of elegance and comfort. Making it the type of place that makes you feel welcome, as if you are part of a family getting ready to share a nice and unique meal. As we settled into our seats, the energy felt by being in that area of Miami set the tone for what would be a beautiful night.

TAMBO’s indoor space, visible through the open doors, showcased modern decor with Latin-inspired accents. The vibrant yet tasteful design reflected the innovative spirit of the menu. But for us, the patio offered an unmatched charm, where the rhythm of the city created a serene backdrop for our meal.

A Feast of Flavors

The menu was a celebration of Latin America’s rich culinary traditions, reimagined with bold creativity. So, we recommend a taste of as much as you can try out while there.

For starters, we couldn’t resist the Mango Patacón Crab Cake. A delightful fusion of panko-crusted crab atop sweet mango and roasted corn, its vibrant flavors were elevated by a hint of kimchi labneh, creating a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and tangy.

For our main courses, my husband chose the Tambo-Spiced Steak, an exceptional dish featuring tender steak enhanced by a unique coffee-ají chimichurri. The bold, smoky notes of the chimichurri paired beautifully with the rich, perfectly cooked meat. I opted for the Saffron Arroz con Pollo, a modern twist on a Latin classic. The saffron-infused rice was aromatic and flavorful, complementing the tender chicken in every bite.

While the entrées were memorable, the Tambo Ceviche was a standout lighter option. Made with fresh corvina, mango, and lime, it delivered a refreshing burst of tropical flavors, a dish we’d highly recommend to anyone visiting.

Cocktail Creations to Savor

No visit to TAMBO would be complete without exploring its innovative mixology program. And, it surely satisfies those looking for great and creative drinks. Our server recommended the Guava Passion Mojito, a tropical masterpiece that was both refreshing and complex, with the perfect balance of sweet guava and zesty lime. My husband went for the Café Old Fashioned, a sophisticated twist on a classic cocktail, featuring subtle hints of coffee that paired wonderfully with his steak.

The cocktails weren’t just drinks, they were well-crafted and balanced experiences, crafted with as much care and creativity as the dishes themselves. Each sip complemented the meal, enhancing the overall dining experience.

A Must-Visit Destination

TAMBO is more than just a restaurant; it’s a culinary journey that captures the vibrant spirit of Latin America while embracing the cosmopolitan energy of Miami Beach.

The gentle glow of the patio lights, the rhythmic hum of the city, and the impeccable service made us feel completely at ease. It was a reminder of how transformative dining can be when all the elements, which are food, ambiance, and company, come together in harmony. It’s a place as peaceful as it is energetic.

Our evening at TAMBO was a celebration of flavors, ambiance, and the beauty of dining in one of the world’s most dynamic cities. It’s safe to say that this won’t be our last visit, and we can’t wait to bring friends and family to experience the magic for themselves.

TAMBO is open seven days a week, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Reservations are recommended, especially for dinner service. To make a reservation, visit tambomiami.com, lastcallhospitalitygroup.com or call (786) 578-6886.
