Paris, New Orleans, Broadway…Coral Cables?

Join Pam Ann on the eve of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, July 25, at Hunters, her favorite hub, as she celebrates Air France, skinny bitches, athletes, and everything fashion!

Ann’s barbed wit has seen her fly many a risky route and negotiate even the most politically incorrect flight path with her blisteringly funny take on the world of airlines and flight attendants. Nothing is out of reach of her pristine white gloves, strutting up the aisle with a trolley full of beautifully unpredictable, acerbic airline satire. She’ll have you rolling in the aisles, gasping for air, and reaching for the oxygen masks. Sit back relax and enjoy Ann's in-flight entertainment.

STONEWALL EXHIBITS MOVE TO NEW ORLEANS

Following success in New York, the Stonewall National Museum, Archives, & Library in Fort Lauderdale will soon be sending two of its exhibits to the New Orleans area. The exhibits, entitled “Standing on the Shoulders of Heroes” and “Never Silent” made their debuts at the 2024 Stonewall Gala this past February. “Standing on the Shoulders of Heroes” is a continuously growing exhibit that introduces visitors to individuals who have had incredible impacts on the LGBTQ community throughout history. The purpose of the exhibit is to celebrate those who made a difference in the lives of many. “Never Silent,” its sister exhibit, takes attendees through an emotional journey of LGBTQ history, one that highlights both historic steps forward as well as the dangerous realities members of the community have faced. The New Orleans exhibit will be held at the St. Anne’s Episcopal Church Dodwell House Community Resource Center located at 1313 Esplanade Ave.

STARTING HERE, STARTING NOW

Brévo Theatre announced its third annual production of "Brévo for Broadway, Young, Gifted & Brave,” featuring the skilled talent of high school students and recent graduates all between the ages of 14-20, on July 26 at 7:30 p.m. at Broward College’s Bailey Hall, located at 3501 Davie Road, Davie. Tickets are $35. The young actors, from diverse and underserved communities, receive training and performance instruction, and will perform a curated production of songs and scenes from hit Broadway musicals and shows such as “Lempicka,” “Once On This Island” and “Anything Goes.” The family-friendly variety show will also include both comedic and dramatic scenes and monologues, some as a result of in-depth workshops written by the students themselves, as well as from well-known plays. Go to brevotheatre.org for tickets and information.

QUEERFERNO: A DISCO MASQUERADE

The Pridelines gala has become one of the most anticipated events in the community. This year's theme is Queerferno: A Disco Masquerade, beginning at 6 p.m. on Aug. 17 at the Coral Gables Country Club (bet the Club’s founders never expected something like this!) in celebration of Pridelines' 42nd anniversary, honoring more than four decades of support, education, and empowerment for South Florida's LGBTQ youth and community. This year’s event will honor those who have made a significant impact on our community. Lady Bunny, the legendary drag queen and comedy sensation, will be presented with the National Icon Honoree Award. Community Champion Awards will be presented to The Miami Foundation and The Our Fund. The Youth Vanguard Award will be presented to Miami Girls Rock Camp. The Hidden Figure Award will go to Michael Roman, the Community Partnerships Manager and Policy & Strategic Development lead for the City of Miami.

Individual tickets to the events are $342. Sponsorship tables are available for $6,000 and include 10 tickets. A sponsorship table tier allows 100 community members to attend the gala who might not otherwise be able to afford a ticket. Go to pridelinesmasquerade.com for tickets and more information.
