In a 6 to 3 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court on June 30 ruled that a state law cannot require a business owner to comply with the law against discrimination in public accommodations if the owner claims their services or product expresses their “beliefs.”
A federal judge on Friday temporarily blocked Florida’s ban on drag performances saying that the law, Senate Bill 1438, "is specifically designed to suppress the speech of drag queen performers,” and he ruled it unconstitutional.
